It's wonderful that you're visiting my website. I'm Shyam Dasi, and I have experience in restoring wooden deities. For several years, I brought old, dusty Jagannath-Subhadra-Baladeva Murtis back to Germany and restored them here.
These days, my focus is on writing, painting, and drawing. But even in these pursuits, the theme is always the "Lord of the Universe." In my books, you'll learn a lot about my pilgrimages with the deities through Japan, India, Switzerland, and Italy. My paintings are also dedicated to the three of them, and that's why I call my art "JagannArt."
The following pictures show how I restored three large Deities. They were complete blanks when I received them. A major challenge, as it was no longer a matter of repainting the historical colors, but of completely redesigning them.
At the bottom, the photos offer a glimpse into my book design. The first pilgrim biography is called "On Tour with God" (in German language) and leads to my guru in India. Click to enlarge!
